About Us
Drapers Airgun Centre is a family-run business which was originally established as P J Draper in 1964 by Peter Draper. Then, it was a car audio, electronics and home electrical store, and when Peter's son Christopher joined him as a teenager, he brought his hobby - guns and shooting - into the business. Almost forty years later he has expanded the business into one of the best and largest airgun showrooms within England and we are a main field sport supplier in the United Kingdom. Drapers Airgun Centre is situated in Radford, Nottingham, and due to expansion it occupies where three shops once stood.
We supply everything from guns and their accessories through to clothing, hunting knives and binoculars, and we offer a great service at the shop itself along with competitive prices. If you wish to visit you can spend your time viewing all our items and test products to your complete satisfaction on purchase. All of our staff will welcome you and are happy to help with any queries.
Our shop also provides a gunsmith. If you have a problem with your gun, purchased from us or anywhere else, we will be happy to take a look and aim to fix it for a small charge, depending on the repair needs.
The staff have worked at Drapers for many years and are extremely experienced in the art of shooting. They are all well trained in a range of shooting sports and can readily offer practical advice as well as which products are most suitable for your needs.
Mr Christopher Draper, Company Director, shoots regularly and has extensive knowledge of the gun trade and smithery. Ms Pamela Draper, Company Secretary, has been the company bookkeeper and dealt with the accounts for many years.
Mr Adrian Green, Shop Manager, came to us in 1990, with previous retail experience. Has excellent communication skills - but please never ask him for a refund !! Customers have been shot.
Mr Karl Orange, Shop Assistant, joined us from the retail sector four years ago, the most patient member of the team he has developed many technical skills.
We have found the following the two most common places people travel from to reach us. We hope this is help to you if you wish to visit our shop but do not hesitate to call en route as one of our members of staff will be able to guide you here.
From Junction 25, M1. Follow A52 towards Nottingham for approx three miles. After the Nottingham University campus, situated on the right, you will reach a large roundabout where the A52 bears right signposted to Grantham. At this roundabout carry straight on towards the Nottingham City Centre. The Queens Medical Centre will be on your right. At the first major crossroads turn left onto Lenton Boulevard. At the third set of traffic lights turn right onto Hartley Road. We are a few yards up on the left.
From Junction 26, M1. Follow A610 towards Nottingham (Plenty of cameras, so no speeding !!) After approx three miles you will cross over the Ring Road still going straight on towards the City Centre. After the hump-back bridge, at the first set of traffic lights turn right onto Radford Boulevard. You will pass the Castle Retail Park on your right, with Dunelm Mills, Gala Bingo, Aldi. At the first set of traffic lights turn left into Hartley Road. We are a few yards up on the left.
There is parking just past the shop on Wilton Street, to the left, Also plenty of parking across at the Castle Retail Park.
